Daily is now Debian Wheezy + kernel 3.4.4 + MPD 0.17

Voyage Linux daily build (i386) has been updated to Debian Wheezy. Kernel build at this moment is 3.4.4. Voyage MPD daily now comes with MPD 0.17. Please stay tuned for the latest development status!

Voyage 0.8.5 released

We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage Linux 0.8.5, which includes 3.2.17 kernel and is based on Debian 6.0.5 "Squeeze".

This version also adds official Soekris net6501 board support. We once again thank you Soekris Engineering for their generous donation to make this happen.

The next release, 0.9.0, will be based on Debian 7.0 "wheezy". It will be released about a week after official wheezy release.

Voyage ONE 0.8.5 released and discontinuing Voyage ONE

We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage ONE 0.8.5 [1].

In this release we also announce the discontinued development of Voyage ONE. Throughout the years since Voyage ONE was released in 2009, it fails to generate significant interest. 0.8.5 marks the last release for Voyage ONE.

Voyage ONE - voyage-one-0.8.5.tar.bz2 [2012-05-22] [Live CD]

Voyage ONE is based on official Debian 6.0.5 "Squeeze" and Voyage Linux 0.8.5. This release updates Asterisk to 1.8.12.0~rc3 and dahdi to 2.6.1.

Voyage MPD 0.8.5 released

We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage MPD[1] 0.8.5 release.

Voyage MPD - voyage-mpd-0.8.5.tar.bz2 [2012-05-22] [Live CD]

Voyage MPD is based on official Debian 6.0.5 "Squeeze" and Voyage Linux 0.8.5. This release updates MPD to 0.16.7 and using alsa driver in 3.2.17 kernel.

In the next release, we would also like to explore DSD support in Voyage MPD. Any your feedback and input are very much appreciated.

New Donation from Soekris Engineering

Today, we are pleased to announced that Soekris Engineering has donated a net6501 kit to Voyage Linux community. Their donation enables us to carry out certification work on net6501-based boards and encourages Voyage Linux project to support Soekris boards.

Along with the net6501-50 board and a standard enclosure, we also receive the following accessories and souvenir as well.

  1. a PSU, 12V x 3.0A unit.
  2. 2.5" SATA hard drive mounting kit for net6501
  3. Sandisk Cruzer Fit 4GB USB drive
  4. Soekris-branded cap and pen

Voyage Linux 0.8.0 released

We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage Linux 0.8.0, which includes 3.0.0 kernel and is based on Debian 6.0.3 "Squeeze".

Voyage Linux is now one of the first distributions with Linux 3.0.0 kernel. Next version will be 0.8.x, probably with new Debian "squeeze" revision and newer 3.x kernel.

Voyage ONE 0.8.0 updates Asterisk to 1.8.4.2 and dahdi to 2.5.0.

3.0.0 voyage kernel and upcoming 0.8.0 release

We have updated the daily build of Voyage Linux, MPD and ONE to Linux 3.0.0 kernel. Testing is now going on and next release is set to 0.8.0. Target release date of 0.8.0 is set tentatively mid October, as to align with Debian 6.0.3 point release update.

New Donation from XMOS

Thank you XMOS! We are pleased to announced that XMOS has donated a USB 2.0 Audio Development Kit to Voyage Linux community. Their donation enables us to carry out certification on USB 2.0 audio devices based on XMOS chipset and encourages us further work on Voyage MPD project.

Voyage Linux 0.7.5 released

We are pleased to announce a new release of Voyage Linux 0.7.5, which includes 2.6.38 kernel and is based on Debian 6.0.2 "Squeeze".

Starting from 0.7.5, madwifi driver is no longer included or supported. Madwifi driver is entirely replaced by nl80211-based ath5k driver.

Next major version is 0.8, which will include Linux kernel 3.0 series. Hopefully, Voyage Linux will be the one of the first distributions with Linux 3.0.x kernel.
